Catalogue Search & Download

The KOBV portal offers different ways to search the catalogues of the KOBV libraries.

1. Individual catalogues

The meta search on the KOBV Portal allows you to select every catalogue of the KOBV libraries individually and to combine them for your search according to your needs. All catalogues you selected are searched simultaneously (federated or parallel search). In the quick search on the KOBV Portal the individual catalogues have been pre-selected according to geographical and technical aspects, so that you do not have to make this choice by yourself.

2. KOBV index

The KOBV index of KOBV Portal consolidates the catalogues of the main KOBV  libraries into one database. The KOBV index is searched as a whole. It is not possible to select individual catalogues.

If your search in the KOBV index has been successful, you can transfer (via Z39.50) the bibliographical data into your literature management system, e.g. EndNote, and process them.
