General Conditions & Contact Persons

The service is open to all libraries and library associations that are members of KOBV. Every library can use this service - regardless of the library system employed locally.

MetaLib and SFX are products developed by Ex Libris. As a precondition for the use of this KOBV service, a software licence agreement with Ex Libris must have been entered.

This is a fee-based service for which the following costs arise:

• One-off costs for the installation of the basic configuration
• Ongoing annuals costs for the operation and maintenance of the central hardware and software components
• (Note: Libraries will incur additionals costs that have to be paid to Ex Libris: one-off costs for the licencing as well as ongoing costs for maintenance)

The KOBV-Zentrale has negotiated special KOBV consortium discounts both for licencing costs and maintenance fees. You can obtain information on these special conditions at the KOBV-Zentrale.
