Consortium portal - Local portals & Linking service

The KOBV-Zentrale is the Application Service-Provider (ASP) for the portal software MetaLib and the open-linking software SFX. In this context, three consortium models are available:

Installation/operation of local portals with integrated open-linking services
Installation/operation of local portals
Installation/operation of open-linking services

Services at a glance:

Provision of a high-performance server with high reliability
- Operation and maintenance of the server to be done by the KOBV-Zentrale.
- No need for libraries to purchase/operate their own server.
Software provision and maintenance (MetaLib and/or SFX) in a consortium environment to be done by the KOBV-Zentrale
- Implementation of library-specific basic configurations
- Input of releases and upgrades
- Migration to higher software versions
Synergies through secondary use of configurations by consortium partners
Integration into the German and worldwide MetaLib / SFX user community
- Mutual support in case of questions
- Joint action with reference to development requirements
